Winter Wedding Dos and Don'ts to Follow This Season

According to the Knot, the second most popular month to get married is October, and we believe there are many benefits to getting married during the colder months.

The weather is getting colder, but that doesn't mean that your wedding needs to be put on the back burner until the sunny days of spring! According to the Knot, the second most popular month to get married is October, and we believe there are many benefits to getting married during the colder months.

However, if you are planning on hosting an outdoor event during the winter, there are some things you need to be concerned about, from your wedding rentals to ensuring your guests don't get too cold! So we have compiled a list of some winter wedding do's and don'ts to follow. Here's how to make sure your winter wonderland wedding goes off without a hitch.

Do choose what dresses you'd like

There is no rule stating that you have to dress your bridesmaids -- and yourself!-- in thick, heavy fabrics just because it's wintertime. Go with whatever fabric and you and your bridesmaids decide on, after all, there are always cardigans and jackets you can use to make everyone warm for the pictures!

Don't be afraid of color

Many brides believe that just because it is cold outside that they have to settle with a muted or dark color scheme for the event. Don't hold your creativity back; choose whatever color you'd like! This goes for your wedding linen rentals and wedding tents as well. Feel free to experiment with color on every surface, because you'll want to create a bright environment.

Do be cozy

Even if you decide to go with bright colors in your ceremony and reception wedding tents, go the extra step and create a cozy environment with lush, luxe fabrics. These components don't have to be everywhere, and can simply be a velvet ribbon tied around your wedding chairs, chenille pillows at lounge areas, or fur rugs under the tables.

Don't let your guests freeze!

It can be easy to get carried away during your big day, but it is important you don't leave your guests outside to freeze! This includes making arrangements for your receiving line to be indoors and to ensure there is a place for them to go during cocktail hour while you are taking pictures.

With these tips in mind, go enjoy your winter wonderland wedding day!

The average length of an engagement is around 14 months. This means that the average couple has a little over a year to plan their wedding, which for some seems like a lot of time. The average length of an engagement is around 14 months. This means that the average couple has a little over a year to plan their wedding, which for some seems like a lot of time. However, this time can fly by when you are concentrating on your wedding rentals, flower arrangements, and bridesmaid dresses. In order to prevent forgetting an important detail, here is a list of five wedding details to make sure not to forget!

1. Having a plan for bad weather.
We all know the stress, you plan a gorgeous outside ceremony only to find out that it is going to rain on your big day. Bypass this by investing in wedding tent rentals to protect your guests from the weather. These wedding tents come typically come with your choice of wedding chairs and linens, so you are able to fully customize every detail.

2. Knowing when the sun will set.
This is important for picture taking, as some of the best shots are done during dusk. You don't want to miss out and have to go inside for pictures, so let your photographer know ahead of time the estimated time of sunset.

3. Providing extra seating at your ceremony.
People may not like to sit right next to each other, so it is always a good idea to set up a few extra chairs during the ceremony. Plus, it will give your guests room to spread out so they are comfortable the entire time.

4. Transporting the bridal party.
Depending on your plans, you may have the bridal party go to the venue at a different time than the bride and groom. Make sure you have a reliable mode of transport for both them and you, so no one gets left behind!

5. Ask about possibly extending the reception time.
No one wants to have to check their watch for the entire reception, just to usher everyone out of their wedding rentals at a specific time. It never hurts to ask the owners if they are willing to be flexible about the end time of the event, and if the DJ and photographer have an hourly rate in case the party goes longer than expected.

Keep these simple tips in mind to have a wedding that goes on without a hitch!

Festive Fall Wedding Decorating Ideas

An outdoor fall wedding is incredibly romantic. Getting married surrounded by fall colors and multiple fall accessories -- think pumpkins, apples, and berries -- is perfect for any wedding, no matter the theme! Here are some fall wedding decorating ideas that will help spruce up your wedding rentals.

Use twigs, logs, and branches to your advantage

You can easily make adorable centerpieces with bundles of twigs and leaves tied together with twine. Want to go further? Use a thick branch and cut holes in it that will fit tealights or pillar candles, and you will have a gorgeous, albeit free, centerpiece that is sure to make a statement once the sun goes down.

Use pumpkins

Fall is the time for pumpkins, so don't be afraid to use them! Orange will cheer up stark white wedding linen rentals and wedding tables, so incorporate these orange gourds everywhere. You can use miniature pumpkins as name and table markers or even favors. They can be used as centerpieces, or on the posts at the end of each row of wedding chairs during the ceremony. The options truly are endless!

Incorporate fall colors without being too overwhelming

Just because your wedding rentals are white doesn't mean your entire reception has to be! You can incorporate some fall colors into your interior design easily without feeling too overwhelmed. Pick a color, or a scheme of colors such as burnt orange, rust, and copper and have small touches of it throughout the tent. Ideas include a ribbon of red fabric that is tied around each chair, orange leaves in the center piece, and copper chandeliers.

Choose your tent rental depending on the look you are trying to achieve

Keep in mind that there are two basic styles of tents: framed tents and pole tents. Depending on a number of guests you will have and the look you're going for, there will be a specific tent to suit your vision. You can also use a clear tent for your guests to enjoy the scenery if you are hosting your reception in a scenic area.

Use fall leaves on your wedding arch

This will be especially stunning if you are getting married outside! Collect as many leaves as you can and make sure they vary in color, and you will have a gorgeous arch to get married under. For an extra impact, have the flower girl scatter leaves instead of petals!

Go ahead and use these tips to plan your perfect fall wedding!

How to Set Up The Perfect Wedding Tablescape

There are hundreds of details to attend to at a wedding, from the wedding linen rentals, the flower girl's dress, a well-executed rehearsal dinner, and wedding flooring rentals. In the flurry of minor details, it can sometimes be easy to forget that a wedding is also a great opportunity to express your creativity and truly go all out with an idea. After all, how often do you get the chance to host huge outdoor events like this?

There are hundreds of details to attend to at a wedding, from the wedding linen rentals, the flower girl's dress, a well-executed rehearsal dinner, and wedding flooring rentals. In the flurry of minor details, it can sometimes be easy to forget that a wedding is also a great opportunity to express your creativity and truly go all out with an idea. After all, how often do you get the chance to host huge outdoor events like this?

Since your guests will spend a large part of their night sitting at their tables, creating a beautiful tablescape is a great way to impress them and keep them posting pictures with your night's hashtag all over them. Check out some of the tips below to create some truly beautiful table arrangements for your wedding reception:

The Base
All successful tablescapes must first start with a table, obviously. When you are arranging the rental of wedding tables, decide whether you want to go for rectangular or round, as the shape of your wedding tables will determine the way your centerpieces come together. This goes for your wedding linens, too -- make sure they go with your color scheme or settle for classic black or white to make your centerpiece really pop.

Think Outside of the Box
Choose quirky elements to include on your wedding tables that reflect your unique personality and the special vibe you want to bring to the whole event. For instance, instead of a flower arrangement, you can use potted plants ( these can also double as party favors). Consider enlisting a local artist to make decorative centerpieces out of paper or plants.

Think Practically
Big, dramatic centerpieces might be nice in theory, but if they prevent your guests from talking to the people across the table from them, it might not be such a great idea. Make your tablescapes a point of conversation, not a hindrance to them.

Whether your have 136 wedding guests (the national average) or 20 good friends gathered around one table, take advantage of the opportunity to create a beautiful arrangement for your guests to enjoy.

Project Spotlight - Tent Museum

Did you know the hottest new experience in Manhattan is a tent?

Did you know that a museum can be in a tent? This unusual museum was a multisensory experience designed to evoke feelings by sight, sound, scent, and feeling.  Its exterior changed color based on sentiments shared on social media. Inside, each room is designed to make you feel energetic, joyful, optimistic, exhilarated, or calm by turns. It was located in Lower Manhattan along the Hudson River, across the street from the World Trade Center.

To create this unique space, Event Resources and https://www.taittowers.com/ contacted Tents For Rent to discuss partnering for this one-of-a-kind event. The idea was to create a cube-like structure instead of a traditional tent. The Palas, a new tent design from the German company, Losberger, fit the bill. Selecting a structure was only the first of many challenges:

  • The Palas needed to be customized, reengineered, manufactured, and shipped from Germany--all in less than six weeks.

  • Mere weeks before installation was to begin, no location in Manhattan had been found to host the event.

  • After a space was found, it was too small to install the tent, while still allowing space for a fire lane. To do this, we worked with Tait to build custom spacers to allow the tent to move up the steps, and out of the fire lane.

  • On the day before installation began, the engineers realized that larger plates were needed to distribute the weight of the concrete ballast and avoid damage to the subway. Tait crews worked around the clock to manufacture new plates, and saved the day. The Tents For Rent crew shifted their already tight schedule to accommodate this change.

  • After the Tents For Rent crew began measuring the space to install the tent, they discovered that the site drawing was slightly inaccurate. The position of the tent needed to be shifted again to accommodate the fire lane.

  • The work area was confined to a fenced-in area that was only slightly larger than the footprint of the tent.

  • For most of the installation, equipment had to be delivered by straight truck since semi trucks could not access the site.

  • Two guards escorted each delivery truck, to protect pedestrians.

  • Due to the height of the eaves, each arch had to be constructed and raised before the next arch could be assembled.

In spite of all these challenges, the tent was completed on time for the installation of a raised floor, lighting, scenery and heating. Special thanks to Losberger, Tait Towers, Event Resources, and the Tents For Rent team for working together to make this event a success.

Project Specs:

  • Tent size: 49' x 114' x 22' tall

  • Concrete ballast: 140 blocks and a total of over 250,000 pounds

  • Installation time: 5 days

  • Location: Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan across from the World Trade Center

  • Tent and ballast delivery trucks: 15

10 Tips and Tricks That Will Make Planning an Outdoor Wedding Simple and Easy

Having a wedding in the great outdoors can be absolutely stunning, with the right landscape, the stars shining at night, and the beautiful weather, it can be hard not to swoon! Of course, that's the best case outdoor wedding scenario.

There are a lot of things to worry about when planning a wedding -- especially outside! -- so we've complied a list of some tips and tricks to abide by when planning your outdoor wedding. From wedding tent rentals to handling the weather, here is everything you should know before planning your big day.

1. Rules and permits. It is important to understand completely what kind of rules you need to abide by before you plan anything. Even if you'd like to get married in a simple park, there may be more regulations you have to worry about, especially if you are considering finding wedding tents for rent.

2. Think of your guest's comfort. Make sure to provide your guests with heaters, fans, well-lit paths to the restrooms, citronella candles in the summer, and plenty of room to both sit and move around in.

3. Once you have your guest count, you can figure out the number of square feet that you will need in your wedding tent rentals. Take your number of guests times 15 square feet for seating at tables, six square feet for standing areas, and eight square feet per person for the wedding ceremony itself.

4. Discuss the weather with your photographer before the ceremony so you can plan accordingly. It is important to figure out where the sun will be so you are not stuck in the shade or squinting into the sun in your pictures.

5. Don't forget the seasonal essentials, which can include sunscreen, an umbrella, scarves, and jackets.

6. Ensure your decor can withstand strong breezes. You'll also want sturdy wedding tables and chairs so nothing is blowing over during the ceremony and ruining the mood.

7. If your wedding is large, you may need some audio visual equipment so your guests can hear you.

8. Make sure your guests are notified ahead of time about appropriate footwear for your venue. High heels and grass don't usually mix.

9. If you're choosing to do wedding pamphlets/brochures at each table, attach them to a stick to make sure they don't blow away. This also doubles as a fan for hotter days.

10. Keep older and younger guests in mind when choosing how far away your venue is from parking and bathroom facilities.

Follow these tips and tricks to have a beautiful wedding day that will go off without a hitch!

3 Ideas For Fun Outdoor Fall Parties

The summer is by no means over quite yet, but you can almost smell the pumpkin spice lattes of fall. From the appearance of winter squash and beets in the farmer's market, to a slight nip in the morning air, we all know that the blazing orange sun of summer is making way for the vibrant hues of fall. And what better way to celebrate than by throwing a party?

The summer is by no means over quite yet, but you can almost smell the pumpkin spice lattes of fall. From the appearance of winter squash and beets in the farmer's market, to a slight nip in the morning air, we all know that the blazing orange sun of summer is making way for the vibrant hues of fall. And what better way to celebrate than by throwing a party?

Hosting an outdoor event is a great way to get people together to enjoy nature and the open sky before everyone retreats inside against the winds of winter.

Here are some ideas for outdoor events in the autumn:

Fall Arts Competition
The craft potential for the fall is monumental -- think colorful leaf crafts, and nature collages. What better way to gather friends, family, and your community than to host a crafting event under a backyard party tent? Create tiers for the competition so that the little kids, bigger kids, teens, and adults can all enter different judging brackets, and when it's all over, make sure to display the crafts and art in local businesses, at school, or your homes.

Musician Showcase
The crisp outdoors air in the fall begs for hot cider and music. Provide both, and folding chairs, to put on a relaxing event that welcomes in the new season and celebrates life, change, and the diversity of the season. Remember, if you arrange the seats to accommodate for a performance space and aisles, there should be 8 square feet per person.

Community Service Events
The fall is the last chance to pick up all the summer litter before the winter snows cover them up and push them even farther into the soil. Get together a bunch of people, rent a tent to rally and serve everyone hot chocolate and snacks under, and get a group effort going to clean up the neighborhood in time for the holiday season.

There are tons of other outdoor events ideas for the fall, from beautiful wedding receptions (the second most popular month to get married is October), to harvest parties. Get into the swing of the season by renting a tent and celebrating with those you love.

Rain on Your Wedding Day? No Worries! You've Got a Rental Tent!

Planning a wedding is stressful. Between booking a venue, hiring a DJ, picking out centerpieces, establishing seating arrangements, and actually getting married forever, there's a lot to think about. And when you’re planning an outdoor wedding, well, things get a whole lot more complicated.

tent rentals

Planning a wedding is stressful. Between booking a venue, hiring a DJ, picking out centerpieces, establishing seating arrangements, and actually getting married forever, there's a lot to think about. And when you’re planning an outdoor wedding, well, things get a whole lot more complicated.

You can’t control the weather, but you can prepare for it. It is for this reason that renting a tent for you outdoor wedding is absolutely essential.

The Benefits of Wedding Tent Rentals

  1. Renting a tent is cost effective: If you’re lucky, you’ll only get married once. It makes no sense to purchase a tent that you won’t use again, which is why it is much more cost effective to rent a tent for a wedding than to buy one. And instead of renting a venue, you can pitch a tent on any available plot of land.

  2. Wedding tents come in various styles: Your wedding is your special day. You have every last detail planned out and everything must be in line with how you envisioned your wedding. When you work with a wedding rental company, you can select a tent that suits your unique needs; it does not have to be generic or in contrast to your picture-perfect vision. There are two styles of tent: frame tents and pole tents. As for what your tent is made of, your two best options are polyester or vinyl.

  3. There are a number of different sizes: One of the most important factors to consider when choosing between wedding tent rentals is the number of wedding guests you anticipate. To get a rough idea of the square footage required, multiply the number of guests by 15 square feet for tables, six square feet for standing area, two or three square feet for the dance area, and 25 square feet for the head table. According to a recent study, the average number of wedding guests is 136 people, but it is wise to account for late RSVPs and unexpected guests. It is better to be generous with the size of the tent guestimate, because you don’t want your guests feeling cramped.

  4. Renting is convenient: Arguably the greatest advantage to renting a tent is the convenience. You have enough to worry about when it comes to your big day. When you hire a wedding tent rental company, you won’t have to worry about things like set-up and storage. Most companies will take care of these things for you.

Rain or shine, your outdoor wedding will undoubtedly be a beautiful occasion. All you need to do is book your wedding tent rental today.

What Happens When It Rains on a Party Tent?

For many brides, the thought of rain on your wedding day isn't ironic, as Alanis Morissette famously sang, but downright terrifying. When you've spent a year planning the best day of your life, a sudden storm can throw the entire day into disarray. Not only do stormclouds make outdoor weddings difficult, but they can make it impossible to take those once-in-a-lifetime wedding pictures as well.

Some brides-to-be also mistakenly believe that outdoor party tents are dangerous in the rain. But while claustrophobic people may get nervous in party tents, and while rain on your wedding day is no fun at all, the best party tents for rent can withstand rainstorms. In fact, that's the entire reason renting a tent for outdoor events is so popular in the first place!

For more information on outdoor events, tent rentals, and rain, check out our popular video, "What if it rains on my wedding day?" below, and keep reading for more tips on tents for rent and rainy weather.

Tents don't just provide a touch of elegance to outdoor events, they also provide crucial protection from the sun, rain, and inclement weather.

How To Prepare For Rain When Planning Outdoor Parties?
There are a number of technical considerations that go into renting a tent. According to a 2014 survey from The Knot, the average wedding had 136 guests. Once you have a guestimate of the number of guests at your wedding, you can calculate the size of the tent you need. For instance, plan on 15 square feet per guest if you have seating at tables; eight-square feet per guest for chairs only; 25-square feet for your head table; and six-square feet for a cocktail area. Most importantly, you'll need to add two or three square feet for your dance area!

However, while you should feel free to fantasize about the perfect wedding day, you should also plan for some complications. The Knot also reports that the most popular wedding month is June (15% of all weddings), followed by October (14%). Here in the Northeast, there's a fair chance of rain in both months, so you'll want to make sure your party tent isn't set up in an area that collects runoff water.

If you're feeling confused, then just ask us for help with these decisions. And there are a few more simple things you can do to prepare for rain on your wedding day:

Before renting a tent, ask about side walls for your tent in case of wind or rain. Do your guests have to walk far from the parking area to the outdoor event? If so, consider providing umbrellas or some kind of flooring to help them stay dry (and to keep high heels from sinking into the mud!).

Most importantly, only work with the best tent rental company you can find!
If you have any concerns about your party rentals and outdoor event when renting a tent, your provider should be happy to answer questions and put your mind at ease. Not all wedding tents for rent are created equally, so take the time to make sure you're working with the right company, whether you're planning a wedding, corporate event, or graduation party.

Tents Aren't Just for Camping Anymore: How to Make Your Outdoor Event Stand Out

With summer just around the corner, the number of outdoor events and parties is going to skyrocket. There may be so many, in fact, that you'll probably be inspired to plan your own! Whether it's a wedding, corporate party, or just a relaxing event for your friends, the great outdoors is calling. But with so many other outdoor events going on, how can you make yours unique and memorable? Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Rent a backyard party tent
You can always choose between purchasing and renting a tent, but if you're only using it three or four times a year, it may be best to rent. Not only are tent rentals an affordable option for any outdoor event, they're a great way to ensure that your party will go on, regardless of weather conditions. Tents can be a welcome relief from the hot sun, and can even be ordered with side panels to block out the wind and rain on cooler days.

Decorate your space
What are tented events without some cool furniture and decor? If you're planning a relaxing event for this summer, you may want lots of blankets and pillows strewn about to ensure a comfortable, yet cool, get together. Not only that but tents allow you to set up one to two days prior to your event, so you'll have plenty of time to decorate. Draping sheer fabric and string lights from the ceiling of the tent will give your party a warm look, and ensure that it can last through the evening and night!

Keep the seasons in mind
No matter what time of year it is, you want to make sure your tent can keep all of your guests comfortable. Since most weddings occur in June or October, you may be looking into either heating or cooling options. A summer tent may have open sides with simple drapes while an autumn tent might have sturdier side panels and heating fans to keep the chill out. In addition, you may want to provide your guests with hand fans or shawls, depending on the weather. Not only will this keep everyone comfortable, it can add a touch of style to your event.

No matter the occasion, it doesn't take much to take a relaxing event into the great outdoors while keeping it simple and stylish. What are you waiting for? Get planning today!

Is An Outdoor Venue Right For Your Wedding?

Spring is in the air. And while in Texas, where I live we had a mild winter, spring is always fun because the wildflowers bloom. And of course, there are always the thoughts of the beach and the fun time it brings.

Spring also marks the beginning of the wedding season, and if you are planning a wedding, then choosing a location is one of your first considerations.

Just the other day, I was walking with friends on the beach, and we walked by the public beach access where a bride and groom was gathering for a wedding with their families. You could tell this was a very special moment for them. The beach venue made it extra special. Here, couples often hold their weddings on the beach and people respect them and allow them to have their space.

What time of the year are you planning on having your wedding? The season and of course the weather along with they type of outdoor venue you select is going to play into the decision-making process. Maybe you have a large enough backyard, or maybe there is a public park or some other type of outdoor venue you want to use. The idea here is that there are many ways an outdoor wedding can help save you money.

There can be certain inconveniences or things that must be left out. In other words, there are pros and cons. You will be watching the weather for sure, but just think about how much fun an outdoor wedding could be. You have a decision to make, so you have to weigh out the differences between an indoor and an outdoor wedding and see what you come up with.

Though one way you can provide comfort to your guests. As well as provide some shelter in case of rain is to have tents. Tents provide shade for the guests in direct sunlight. And when you rent tents from a tent provider, these will be nice tents. Not the dusty camping tents your future in-laws have in their shed in the backyard.

The great thing about having tents is that you get to experience the outdoors without having to put everyone directly outside.

And you can set them up practically anywhere.

For example, at my cousin got married in his parent's spacious backyard. And by spacious, I mean 2 acres. It's built on the last piece of land that was the family farm. And he got married in late summer of Texas. When it was still warm but not exceptionally hot. And more importantly, we didn't have to worry about storms as much. In Temperature, March through May is the best times in Texas. But between the wind and consistent stormy weather, hard to plan for an outdoor wedding.

And they rented a giant tent to put all of the guests under so that we weren't under the direct glare of the setting Texas sun. And the altar was in the center. We all sat at tables so that we could visit before the ceremony. Then they got married and that is where we had the BBQ dinner reception.

I hope from this article you have gotten some ideas about how to choose to have an outdoor wedding. And see how a tent can help make it a nicer ceremony for your guests.

3 Ideas for Upcoming Corporate Event Rentals

Tented events and corporate event rentals are our specialties at Tents For Rent. We believe every time of the year has opportunities to celebrate and show appreciation -- especially for employees -- at companies of all sizes. Outdoor events can be the perfect way to do this and with summer right around the corner, the time to start planning was yesterday.

Determining the number of people who will attend and the appropriate amount of seating is one of the hardest things about the setup process for corporate event rentals. For starters, it's a good idea to allow eight square feet per chair if you're going to be having a speech or award ceremony of some kind.

Particulars aside, the first thing you have to decide on for corporate event rentals is what you will be celebrating. Here are a couple of ideas to celebrate and boost company morale, increase productivity, and ultimately show appreciation for the people who make your company what it is.

  1. Company Picnic: A simple company picnic for employee appreciation is one of the best ways to show you care. Not only does it give your employees a chance to enjoy a relaxing event outside, but it's also a lot easier to put on than you probably think! Let us handle your corporate event rentals, including chairs, tents, and tables. All you'll have to do is find a caterer.

  2. Memorial Day: Memorial Day is an under-celebrated holiday in this country. It is a day for honoring those who have died to give every other American the opportunity to do whatever it is they're doing today. While technically a federal holiday that should be observed regardless, it's a great idea to celebrate by providing food, drinks, and perhaps even some sort of memorization of what the day stands for.

  3. Fourth of July: Another important holiday to the history and future of the U.S. is the Fourth of July. What better way to celebrate the birth of America than at the company/business that was made possible because of it

Depending on your event's size, function, and preferences, there are two basic styles of tents: frame tents and pole tents. Check out all our options and get started on your corporate event rentals today.

Do Tents Come with Sidewalls?

All of our tents can have their sidewalls either open or closed. The price for most tents includes the matching sidewall for free.

This article is part of a series of posts with further explanation on many of our frequently asked questions.

We get this question or a variation of it often:

  • Do you rent canopies (without sidewalls)?
  • How much extra do sidewalls cost?
  • Are the sidewalls easy to install?
  • Can the sidewalls be rolled up?

In this post, I'll answer all of those questions. All of our tents can have their sidewalls either open or closed. The price for most tents includes the matching sidewall for free. You can also add clear or cathedral window walls for an extra fee.

When we deliver the tent, our installation crew can install some of the walls, install all of the walls or leave them onsite in case you need to install them later. The walls are designed to be attached or removed, not rolled up. If you have any further questions about tent walls, please contact us.

Planning for a party can be extremely stressful, and the process can become even more overwhelming when you're planning an outdoor event. Between the potential rain, wind, glaring sunshine, and other unknown factors, you need to be prepared for whatever may try to crash your party.

With party tents for rent, you can rest assured in knowing that your guests are protected from the outdoor elements. Tent rentals are absolutely ideal for a wide range of outdoor events, from backyard parties to large-scale weddings and everything in between. In addition to protecting your guests from the elements, tented events are much more fun and sociable because everyone can enjoy themselves under one "roof."

Party tents for rents are a must-have for all outdoor events, and you might as well move your party indoors if you aren't planning on renting a rent. Here are just three of the many ways that party tents for rent can make your next outdoor event special:

  • Backyard party tent
The decision to buy or rent a tent has many variables. For example, if the tent will only be used for three or four times each year, it's always best to rent the tent. If you just have a few summer gatherings with friends and family in your backyard, you're strongly urged to rent a tent instead of wasting money on purchasing one. This is why party tents for rent are perfect for those few warm summer nights in the backyard with your loved ones.

  • Corporate event rentals
If you're planning a corporate event, you will absolutely want to rent a tent. While every corporate event is different, they all typically gather everyone in one area at some point. If the sun is too bright for people to concentrate, you may lose their attention during a speech fairly quickly. Tents will allow all of your employees and coworkers to bond in one convenient location, in addition to providing shade and other important benefits.

  • Wedding tents
Last but certainly not least, an outdoor wedding is simply not complete without wedding tent rentals. On a wedding day, everyone is dressed in the nicest clothing they have. In the unfortunate event of rain, you cannot afford to leave your guests at the mercy of Mother Nature. There are two basic styles of wedding tents: frame tents (including clearspan tents) and pole tents (including tensile tents), which a tent rental company can help you choose. Additionally, wedding tents require a bit more planning than other events. For example, if cathedral type seating is being used, allow six square ft. of room per person in the tent.

Regardless of what type of event you're planning for, party tents for rent are an essential component of every outdoor function. Find a trusted tent rental company in your area and make your next event one to remember.

Ideas For Decorating the Tent At Your Special Event

Your tented event-- whether it be a 16th birthday party or wedding -- need not be typical or boring in any way. You may think about the huge tent as just a precaution in case of inclement weather, but in fact, it is a blank canvas ripe for your personal stamp of creativity.

Your tented event -- whether it be a 16th birthday party or wedding -- need not be typical or boring in any way. You may think about the huge tent as just a precaution in case of inclimate weather, but in fact, it is a blank canvas ripe for your personal stamp of creativity.

Lights
Nothing is more magical than hundreds of twinkling lights... it gives off the impression of thousands of fireflies celebrating your joy or hundreds of candles flickering in celebration. It can make you feel like you're dancing among the stars. Wrap the tent poles, centerpieces, and inside support beams with traditional white string lights for a classier look, or invest in lights of all colors, shapes, and sizes for a burst of color and a festival theme for what will certainly be a party to be remember. Not to mention, the lights make for great photo opps, guaranteeing the beautiful preservation of memories from your tented event. Check out wedding lighting rentals for getting the magical experience you want for a deal.

Flowers
For the lavish garden party you've always wanted, consider thoroughly coating the inside of your tent with flowers. Wrap the tent poles with garlands, suspend hanging baskets full of blossoms, and link daisy chains overhead. Wedding tents never smelled so good -- and according to Knot's 2014 Real Weddings Study, June was the most popular month to get hitched. Flowers provide a seasonable and picturesque option for wedding decorating, and so much fun for everyone -- remember to make flower crowns and corsages for the entire wedding party.

Theme It Up
Think about other uses for tents, and use that to your advantage. From a subtle circus theme to a Bedouin inspired color palette, you can take advantage of the form already available to you. Choose between pole tents for a traditional look, or frame tents, which offer more diversity in terms of themes. Think underwater, tropical escape, or casino night, and make sure you utilize the center tent supports to hang a disco ball or a faux chandelier. Remember to get wedding chairs and investigate wedding carpet rentals, in addition to wedding linen rentals.

Considering how many options there are when it comes to decorating a tent, it could be more worthwhile to invest than to buy instead of rent -- if you plan on using it more than four times a year, buying in the way to go. The good news for rented tents is that you don't have to worry about storing or maintaining them, since the rental company takes them right back. Regardless of your choice, your next tented event will truly be spectacular.

3 Non-Traditional Approaches to Weddings You'll See in 2016

Would you sing your vows? As people continue to look for ways to make their wedding stand out, many are opting for less traditional approaches. YouTube can show you everything from a man serenading his wife with his wedding vows, to brides dancing down the aisle instead of walking.

Would you sing your vows? As people continue to look for ways to make their wedding stand out, many are opting for less traditional approaches. YouTube can show you everything from a man serenading his wife with his wedding vows, to brides dancing down the aisle instead of walking.

So what sort of intriguing new trends can we expect for 2016? Here are some non-traditional twists you may see more and more brides and grooms opting for.

1. Grandma Flower Girls
As the Huffington Post points out in their own coverage of new trends, “it’s hard to get cuter than a grandma tossing petals.” While this may be adorable, it also speaks to a shift in attitudes toward who should be included in the wedding. For someone that has no nieces or nephews yet, honoring a beloved grandmother with a place in the wedding might feel like a better fit than drafting a friend’s kid, who they barely know.

2. The Advent of 3D Printing
As 3D printing becomes more and more accessible, you’re going to be seeing it at weddings a lot more. 3D printing can add geometric pop to centerpieces and bouquets; it can also be used to further personalize parts of the wedding. Why have a generic cake topper when you can have one that looks exactly like you as a couple -- or exactly like your pet dogs?

3. Less Traditional Locations: Tented Events
If you’ve talked to anyone planning a wedding, you know it’s a common theme -- weddings are expensive, and the venues are often the biggest expense of all. Renting a tent for an outdoor wedding can be a great way to save money on the ceremony without impacting quality (and there are four main types of tents to choose from: Pole-supported tents, tensile tents, pipe frame-supported tents, and clearspan tent and party rentals). In fact, wedding tents often allow for more customization than a traditional wedding hall might allow. It makes sense to rent a tent if you're only going to use it a few times out of the year. When you’re not dealing with an official venue, you’re not dealing with their specific (and often expensive!) catering, decorating, or bar rules, either. Opt for heavy duty tent and party rentals so that they don't topple over in windy weather.

Whether it’s grandmas with petals, 3D printed boutonnieres, or tent and party rentals, it’s not hard to make your wedding stand out for less in 2016.

Project Spotlight: Custom Pavilion

At Tents For Rent, we delight in working with you to solve even the most difficult challenges. For Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, we did just that. They had a rooftop patio with a beautiful view. The only problem was that the sun and the rain made it unusable for much of the summer. Before we could install a tent on the patio, there were several challenges that we needed to overcome:

  • The patio was a rooftop and thus needed to remain waterproof.
  • The patio was right in front of the announcer's stand. So, it needed to be very low profile.
  • The roof was not strong enough to support the weights required to secure the tent.
  • The patio had two levels.

Each of these challenges alone would have been difficult to solve. After surveying the location and extensive discussion on what would be the best solution, we worked with Anchor Industries to design a custom tent that all sloped in one direction. This created a solution that gave Mohegan sun the needed space until their new facility was completed. The tent was complete with lighting, heating and all the necessary amenities for a great outdoor event...rain or shine. Do you have a difficult tenting challenge? Contact us today. We'd love to help.
